What are SSBCI?

The Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically (SSBCI) are additional benefits that Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans may offer to enrollees with complex chronic conditions.Unlike the regular Medicare benefits, the SSBCIs can include services that are not strictly medical, as long as they contribute to improving or maintaining the enrollee’s health, functionality and quality of life.

The benefits mentioned are Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI). You may qualify for SSBCI if you have a high risk for hospitalization and require intensive care coordination to manage chronic conditions such as hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, cardiovascular disorders and peripheral vascular disease.
