Medicare is a federal health coverage program for people over 65, and/or younger people with certain disabilities.
Original Medicare consists of Part A and Part B. Most Medicare beneficiaries pay an additional charge for Part B coverage.
Eligible individuals are automatically enrolled in Part A when they turn 65.
You have to sign up for Part B. If you don’t sign up when you are eligible, you may have to pay a penalty.
Part C and Part D are important options that can help you pay for most of the additional expenses not covered by Original Medicare.
